It's a wildly windy and rainy day here in this little corner of Scotland, the windows are rattling and the Cherry Blossom flowers are billowing along the street like drifts of snow on a winters day.
I am listening to music, journeying along on the rhythms and soaring melodies of classical compositions, drinking hot water and lemon and resting in the abode of peace, knowing that all is well with me.
There are pretty Lupins in a vase beside me and A Course in Miracles sat invitingly open on the tabletop.
I have been studying A Curse in Miracles for 93 days now after my children bought the book a couple of years ago, I have been sharing the daily lessons here, on the blog, as each day unfolds. It is a year-long study course, so it is quite a commitment to show up each day this way, I am certain it is helpful for us on many levels.
It has become a part of my daily Sadhana practice (daily spiritual practice), along with meditation, affirmative prayer, feminine embodiment practices and writing poetry daily.
These are the go-to daily practices that assist me in moving forward in life with ease and grace, well for the most part! Sometimes I fall into old habits and ways of thinking that prevent grace me flowing through me unhindered, it's a process, a process of clearing, revealing and transforming limitations, fears and old ways of being into nuggets of wisdom and transformation.
Essentially a process of moving from fear into a state of ever-flowing unconditional love.
What do you do each day to assist you in being a fully embodied radiant being of love?
Ideally, to create a solid foundation of change and new behaviour patterns, we would commit to a 40-day Sadhana practice, to give us that time to adopt new strategies, and behaviours, positive habits into our day to day life.
Have you ever considered doing this?
It doesn't need to be elaborate, choosing one or two simple practices to commit to daily for 40- days is enough to see and feel the changes that the commitment to ourselves can make.
If you would like to give it a go, here are some suggestions to get you started.
Decide on how much time you realistically have to dedicate to your daily Sadhana practice. Perhaps, 10, 20, 30 or 60 mins a day.
Make sure it is genuinely manageable EVERY DAY.
We are aiming to develop a time and space to enter on a daily basis to create a platform for transformation, integration, growth and where we win by being able to show up for ourselves completely.
If, in all honesty, you can commit to 5 mins a day, do that with ALL OF YOUR HEART.
This is about quality, commitment and being on a spiritual journey of AWAKENING.
Here are some suggested practices for you to choose from (links to FREE practices at the bottom of the page) :
Dancing to Your Favourite Song
Reading a book of spiritual teachings
Mindfully brewing a beautiful, heart-opening tea, and sitting in reverence and silence as you sip it.
Choose the practice or practices that inspire you most, decide how much time you have and COMMIT to yourself by practising daily.
I would love to know how you get on.
Some days there will be resistance to showing up, and other times you will fall into your practices like a babe in arms nestling into its mother's breast, ready to receive the nurturance and connection of the building familiarity with the practices and intimacy with self.
Either way, your life will be enriched by knowing yourself, your patterns and the practices more completely.
As we practice we deepen our connection to ourselves, love and joy with an awareness of peace that is available to us in every moment.
The lesson, lesson 93, from the Course, 'Light and joy and peace abide in me'.
“What you think you are is a belief to be undone."
