My goodness, it's a wild day outside today, the wind is rattling and howling against the house, it feels heavenly to be tucked up snuggly inside. I am looking forward to heading out for a walk shortly, to feel the wind in my hair and the ground firmly beneath my feet.
Are you managing to get out for a walk each day?
I have been having a few conversations with women recently who have been talking about confidence, wishing that they had more confidence and belief in themselves.
Do you ever feel like this?
Do you ever find yourself second-guessing yourself, hiding your body or eyes from others, or holding yourself back from doing what you would most love to do, be and achieve in life?
Are there particular areas in your life that you feel could benefit from a boost of rock steady self-belief and confidence?
I remember when I was a child I would be chronically shy in a school setting, but be wildly alive at home and in environments I loved and felt sure of myself in. I was overly concerned in certain environments of being wrong, or getting things wrong, of not hearing things correctly and therefore misinterpreting situations and people. Those of you who know me well will know that I live with significant hearing impairment.
So this translated into a need to really understand others and the meaning in the words, gestures and expressions they showed so that I felt a part of the situation, conversation and didn't get it 'wrong.'
This, for sure, had a huge impact on my confidence and act of shyness in certain environments, and took some resolving!
Overcoming perfectionism has been a big part of my path, and opening my voice to really speak my truth and live it has been another aspect of becoming a confident, self-aware, self-actualised woman.
Just recently I have been having to work with this on a much deeper level as I have taken to doing 'lives' on Fb and Instagram. By showing up for a 'live' it triggered, by not being able to see others faces, some unhealed aspects of the hearing loss story and my desire to see, hear fully, and understand others and in turn be seen, heard and understood too.
Perhaps you too can relate to this in some way?
It, for me, came down to trusting that all is perfect whole and complete, in every moment, and I simply had to get myself out of the way, by doing the deeper healing, transformative work, and have confidence that all was being revealed, presented and responded to in perfect divine order.
If you are feeling a lack of confidence in any area of your life it may be useful for you to work with the following Spiritual Mind Treatment, Affirmative Prayer, for Confidence.
Bring yourself to sit or kneel in an easeful position, spine long and free. Enjoy a few long deep breaths and then affirm the following prayer, remembering that metaphysically, in Spiritual Truth there is only ever Confidence, and so confidence is who you are.
Confidence is what I AM.
It expresses Itself as My True Nature. It is the Inspiration in My Heart, the words in My Mouth and the Wisdom of My Mind.
It knows what to do and how to do it.
As I rest in this assurance all that is necessary for Divine Right Action
to take place Flows out from The Presence Within Me.
All is well.
And So It Is
Then close your eyes and be still as you relax in the knowledge that you humanly are not the Power. Let go, let Pure Consciousness lead the way. So that you may take action from the Spiritual Directions, the Intuitive Prompts that unfolds from within.
The lesson from A Course in Miracles today states this: Holding grievances is an attack on God's plan for salvation.
If ever you doubt your confidence and your hope of success diminishes, repeat your request and your question. You are asking that which always Knows and in doing so you create the environment and opportunity to hear, live, speak and express the truth through you.
Remember seek and you will find. Ask and you will be answered.
“A creator wholly unlike its creation is inconceivable."
