Hello, my beautiful friend,
I am sat here gazing out of the window at a grey and damp looking Scotland, the sky is heavy with unshed tears of rain, it's like the offering of a soft blanket to curl up beneath, to rest and take time to integrate, rest and snuggle up against the elements.
I have beautiful music tunefully spreading its beauty in the ether around me, and my feet plunged, beneath the table, into a steaming bowl of water with Epsom salts and essential oils. Coffee is brewing in the French Press beside me, and books galore scattered across the table.
It feels homey, nurturing, a love filled space to explore, feel and breathe into, and I am in the zone!
I was a little tired this morning when I got up, so I took myself back to bed for another hour, this is practically unheard of for me, but a necessity today. I can feel my body winding down to enter the winter phase of her cycle, she's needing more rest, grounding foods and time to embody and integrate all that has been accumulating, clearing and releasing during this past month.
Today is a day for yoga nidra, meditation, soft movement, quiet moments of self-reflection and tasty colourful foods to satisfy the senses.
How are you spending your day?

As A Course in Miracles says, 'We have seen that there are only two parts of your mind. One is ruled by the ego and is made up of illusions. The other is the home of the Holy Spirit.' Having a regular meditation practice can help us to differentiate between the two voices within, to understand ourselves, our motivations, our habitual patterns and find a new course of intentional direction in our lives.
To remember that we always have a choice in every moment as to how we may show up, with whom and how we have a choice what we do for a living, we have a choice as to whether we listen to the truth of who we are, to follow our Souls path with love and joy (did you see my post on finding your Dharma yesterday?), we are not victims of life at the whim of unseen forces, in every moment we may, if we so choose, declare a command upon the energies of One Mind, to bring into focus that which we desire, for the Highest Good of All.
Meditation assists and supports us in being able to go within the cave of our heart, to clear away the egoic clamouring of shoulds and what-ifs, of victimhood and lost desires, it helps us return to the abode of Divine Love so that we may be of great service to the entire world by being a beacon of light within our own homes.
Of course, there are many tools and practices to support us upon the path of soul led living, but I do buy into this idea 'if in doubt meditate!'
If only to prepare us to live this as a present moment awareness within all areas of our lives, off the mat and out into the world.
The lesson for today, from the Course, is this: My happiness and my function are one.
Isn't it wonderful to know that when we discover and step into the living of our dharma that this is equal to our happiness?
“You will listen to madness to hear the truth.”
- A Course In Miracles
It releases all sense of suffering we may have from being stuck in jobs, relationships, lifestyles and habits that don't necessarily serve us and therefore definitely do not serve anyone else.
It takes great courage to answer the call, release what holds us back and prevents the light of our soul shining magnificently in the world. But, there is one thing I do know for sure, and that it is absolutely worth it!
Some of us will have big bold lives with great wealth and huge numbers of followers and some of us will, in answering our souls' longing for genuine expression, have quiet lives.
Each of us has a part to play in this magnificent game of life, our job is to get out of our own way and let inspiration lead us.
I have been in the egoic tussle at times about wanting to live quietly unseen, as a writer and artist immersed in the wilds and the rhythms of nature, and not needing to do or be anything else.
But I know my dharma is to be here with you, to serve you and others with the gifts and talents I naturally have, to mentor, empower, support, teach and guide women through Spiritual Awakening.
I know that my soul is birthing new projects and ways of being with you, as a shining light and voice of truth. I know that I am to work with men too at some point soon. Which I have done also throughout the years.
I know that to serve you well I need to be well resourced, living from an overflowing cup of wisdom, wealth and soulful living. I know that I am to create balance between these two seemingly opposite aspects of my internal desires to live full out and create the balance of being immersed in nature for vast periods of time to fill my vessel again.
It is a dance, full of joy, self-discovery and intuition, a creative play of living my truth which, I know, is the truth of the intelligent life force that is Innate Wisdom, Divine Love, the Holy Spirit, the One Mind.
