Today I write to you from my newly moved into home in a beautiful seaside town in the Highlands.
The sky is shining vast and wide, a beautiful clear blue, and the sea a minutes’ walk from my home, is soft and calm, and there is a stunning backdrop of crisp white snow blanketing the surrounding hills.
I am so grateful that you are here with me, as I share this year long journey with you!
My name is Charlotte, I am a mother, women’s mentor, yoga teacher trainer and artist.
‘A Course In Miracles’ came in to my awareness a number of years ago, it has been there, as yet an untapped source of inspiration to grow and evolve with.
My two youngest children (now in their late teens and early twenties) bought the book for me a while ago. It has been nestled amongst many other books upon my bookshelves awaiting the day that I would pick it up, settle down and begin this inward journey.
With the start of this current adventure, a new beginning, my youngest son and I having moved to a new town. A question mark over the unfolding direction of my work, and my two eldest children and daughter-in -law (to be) off travelling the world, it felt like the perfect time to settle down, open A Course In Miracles and have it as a companion upon this next leg of what has been a vastly full and rich life of adventure!
The edition of A Course In Miracles I have here beside me contains within it the Text, Workbook for Students and a Manual for Teachers.
I began my morning, as usual, by meditating, then I sat back with a steaming mug of hot water and lemon and opened the pages of ‘A Course…’
“Through prayer love is received, and through miracles love is expressed.”
- A Course In Miracles
My personal reflection from the text I read today and exercise 1, I completed from the workbook, is that miracles are all around us, in every moment whether we can perceive them or not. Our job is to awaken to the possibility that this is true, and if we are ready to believe it to be so, set about releasing anything that veils our ability to see clearly. So that we may align with miracles; with love, and transform our fears into trust, love and divine guidance.
“Miracles reawaken the awareness that the spirit, not the body, is the alter of truth.”
- A Course In Miracles
Ask for a miracle, no matter how life is out picturing, no matter what you are experiencing right now.
It is ok, you may dive into the chambers of your heart and ask for love and guidance, and for a miracle to be present with you today.
Know that what you seek is seeking you, that everything else is simply smoke screens and veils, casting shadows and doubts in the way of the truth that is awaiting our connection in every moment.
Lesson 1 (pg. 3 Workbook for Students)
Nothing I see in this room (or on this street, from this window, in this place) means anything.
Are you genuinely able to look around you and KNOW that all that you see and are experiencing means nothing?
Try it, how does it feel?
Do you believe it to be true?
Can you even entertain the thought that the things you, and I, have worked hard to achieve, get and own simply has no meaning?
As you cast your eyes around the room how does it feel to say …
This chair does not mean anything.
This foot does not mean anything.
This hand does not mean anything.
This table does not mean anything.
That window does not mean anything.
That building does not mean anything.
That shadow does not mean anything.
